    Thomas Meyer is currently Visiting Associate Professor at the ELie Wiesel Center of Judaic Studies (Boston University). He received his PhD in Philosophy 2003 and the second PhD, also in Philosophy, (Habilitation) in 2009 (both from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich). He published five books, most recently "Why do we study Jewish Philosophy?" (German, 2013). In September he will publish a volume co-edited with Andreas Kilcher (Zurich) on the "Wissenschaft des Judentums" ("Jewish Studies"). For October 2015 a 600 to 700 pages "Intellectual Biography" of Leo Strauss under the title "Athen und Jerusalem. Der Politische Philosoph Leo Strauss" ("Athens and Jerusalem. The Political Philosopher Leo Strauss") is announced.
