Andrea Antenan Peecher

Bio/Description

Andrea joined the program in Religions of Mediterranean Antiquity in 2020. Before arriving at Princeton, she completed a BA in Religion and Classical Studies at Hope College and an MTS in Liturgical Studies and History of Christianity at the University of Notre Dame. Andrea is interested in how early Christian and Jewish communities defined themselves and others in the rituals they performed and how these rituals reflect the cultural world of the ancient Mediterranean even as they deviate from it. Her study incorporates both textual and material sources and engages questions of embodiment, space, and performance.
