Candace Jordan

Candace Jordan joined the doctoral program in Religion, Ethics, and Politics in Princeton's Religion Department in 2017. Her work integrates religious ethics with moral psychology, feminist philosophy, and the Black radical tradition. Her dissertation illuminates the epistemic and non-instrumental value of anger, especially as resources for those suffering gender and racial oppression. The project explores whether and how anger in response to injustice is required for acknowledgment of injustice. Candace is also interested in reparative justice and confrontational activism in social movements. She holds a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy from Haverford College.
