Pronouns she/her Position Appellate Attorney & Law Professor Affiliation Class of 1996 Email [email protected] Bio/Description I loved my time in the Religion Department at Princeton, and its interdisciplinary and rigorous approach gave me the confidence and open-mindedness to create my own career path. After graduating from Princeton in 1996, I studied for one year in the Jewish Studies Department of the University of Potsdam, Germany, on a scholarship from the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). I then worked at the U.S. Department of State before going to law school. I am now an appellate litigator with my own law firm specializing in indigent criminal defense, and I teach legal writing and criminal procedure courses internationally. I am married with two children.Prior to opening my own law firm, I founded the first clinical legal education program at the Peking University School of Transnational Law in Shenzhen, China and supervised students in the Appellate Litigation Clinic at Georgetown University Law Center. I also practiced public interest law as a Chesterfield Smith Fellow at Holland & Knight LLP in Washington, DC and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Rosemary Barkett on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Miami, FL. In addition, I was a member of the Council of the Town of Chevy Chase, Maryland from 2017-2021, serving as mayor from 2020-2021.
