Pronouns he/him/his Position Cravath, Swaine & Moore Email [email protected] Bio/Description I graduated from Princeton with a degree in religion/philosophy in the midst of the Viernam war, to which I was strongly oppposed, took four years off to teach and travel, then attended law school at NYU. My first law job was at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a "white shoe" law firm in Manhattan. I then became in-house counsel to a cable TV company in Colorado, where I have lived ever since. When the company moved back east, I stayed and opened a solo private practice from which I retired in 2012.I am now an atheist and a Buddhist. I think my training in the Religion and Philosophy Departments, possibly combined with my legal experience, led me in this direction. I have always been heavily involved in outdoor pursuits -- rock climbing, mountaineering, scuba diving, skiing, camping -- and this too led me to believe that the natural world fulfills the same human needs and impulses as religion has done throughout history.
