Madeleine Mark

Madeleine Mark began her studies at Princeton in 2015 in the Religions of Mediterranean Antiquity subfield. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Classical Studies (Languages and Literature track). In a recent project, she examined how Greco-Roman definitions of male, or public, virtue presented themselves in the books of Daniel and Esther in the Septuagint. Madeleine is interested in the interactions of Jews in the Greco-Roman world with their host cultures, and how the exchanges of ideas and values were mutually influential and manifest in Greco-Roman, early Christian and contemporaneous Jewish literary works.
