Bio/Description

Sagar Rao entered the graduate program in Religion in 2023 in the Asian Religions subfield after studying Philosophy at Swarthmore College and Buddhist Studies at Rangjung Yeshe Institute. His research focuses on Indian and Tibetan philosophy, especially Buddhist metaphysics, epistemology, and philosophy of religion. He has previously worked on comparative philosophical projects in the philosophy of religion leveraging resources from the Buddhist and Western traditions to consider questions relating to the divine attributes and the epistemology of religious belief. He hopes to continue working on those issues, and also to develop greater historical competency, especially with medieval Indian philosophers working in Bengal and Kashmir.
