Wolfgang Ertl

Visiting Research Fellow

Wolfgang Ertl is joining the Project in Philosophy and Religion as a visitor in fall 2022. He is working on topics at the intersection of metaphysics and ethics, such as free will and determinism, mainly in the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. Currently, he is engaged in a research project on Kant’s indebtedness to the legacy of the so-called "Second Scholasticism”. Philosophical theology, meta-ethics, and moral theory are further fields of research, both with an eye to contemporary debates and an interest in classic authors of the history of philosophy.
